Detective Pikachu is out in theaters soon, and while the idea of it is patently ridiculous, it might actually be worth watching thanks to Ryan Reynolds’ dry sense of humor.
However, Detective Pikachu is just the latest in a long line of Pokemon movies, the first being Pokemon: The First Movie from 1998.

As someone who liked the Pokemon games back in the day, I don’t want to crap on the franchise. However, the movies have always been a little ridiculous.
