It’s one thing for the average person to be publicly humiliated on TV, but it’s even worse for a celebrity. A famous person’s career is at stake if they do the wrong thing, or in this case, say the wrong thing.
Take Charles Barkley, for example, who reads anything on the teleprompter including the words, “I’m a dumbass.”
This prank was only harmless fun for the guys at TNT, but it could have been disastrous for Barkley if he had been like some celebrities and taken it the wrong way (Tom Cruise anyone?). Luckily, he took it as well as anyone with a sense of humor could.
“That was good,” he keeps saying. Now if only they could play this prank on a certain TV host.
