Seinfeld is, by many people’s standards, the greatest sitcom ever made. Hell, it’s many people’s choice of the best television show ever made, period.
It’s certainly up there. But would it stand up to scrutiny as a serious drama? This video would suggest that all of the essential elements were already in place.
Serious Seinfeld takes a couple of the more dramatic storylines from Seinfeld, and morphs them into a television movie starring George Costanza as a tragic figure.
It’s even called George, as the character faces up to the death of his fiance before finding redemption with the help of a child. Genius.
