The Big Bang Theory is one of those sitcoms that splits opinion. Some people love it, and find it hilarious, while others fail to see the appeal.
Regardless of your opinion you’ll probably be able to appreciate this version of The Big Bang Theory where the only person in the audience is Ricky Gervais.
Gervais has a unique laugh, and an infectious one at that. So his laugh on its own more than compensates for the loss of a laugh track.
What’s clear to me though is how necessary a laugh track is for The Big Bang Theory to succeed. Because without one you probably wouldn’t know when to laugh.
