The first Amendment makes sense “freedom of speech, press, assembly and to petition”. Though, I never understood why some Amendments were so quick to be established. Why was the second amendment “the right to bear arms” approved so suddenly? Was it really more important than the 3rd or 4th?

Sure, the way some these are presented are a bit over the top, but the facts themselves are just as shocking. For example, the fact that the KKK and the NRA were founded in the same year and that people of color weren’t allowed to have guns is just appalling.
As an American myself, I am proud of the many freedoms our country has. The Constitution and Bill of Rights continue to influence our the U.S. positively in the present. I just pray that we learn from our past.
