President Obama was in attendance for the 100th White House Correspondents Dinner, and duly stood up and told jokes as is now expected of the American leader.
To be fair, Obama did a great job. When he leaves the White House in 2016 he’ll undoubtedly be able to earn big bucks as an after-dinner speaker.
As a Brit, a lot of the jokes sailed way over my head. And I suspect they sailed over the heads of many Americans who don’t keep up with all the latest goings-on in Washington DC.
I just hope America chooses another charismatic leader next time. President Obama has been a breath of fresh air in terms of actually having a personality.
