Google Fiber Introduces Dial-Up Mode Video | Simulating A 56k Modem Is A Good Thing

Google Fiber is superfast broadband that many people in the United States and beyond would love the chance to use, if only Google offered it in more states.

But perhaps Google Fiber is a little too fast. Perhaps what’s needed is a way of slowing it down to a snail’s pace. Introducing Dial-Up Mode.

Google Fiber’s Dial-Up Mode lets you slow your Internet down to the speed of a 56k modem. Which gives you more time to do other stuff, such as household chore and ringing grandma.

This is, of course, an April Fools’ Day joke from the funsters at Google. But actually, it’s a reminder of how we should occasionally turn off the Internet and do something else more productive.
