Google Now, which is built into the Android operating system, is now available on iOS as well, so iPhone and iPad users will be able to use the Siri-like personal assistant from Google.
This video shows a couple of technology journalists discussing the move, giving a brief overview of what Google Now is and what it does, and explaining why Google has made Google Now available to its competitor.
To be fair to Apple and Siri, Google Now is very different from the iOS personal assistant. Siri is there to help and answer questions when you need her, but Google Now tries to preempt those queries.
My advice is to try both and see which you prefer. The only problem with Google Now is the need to share personal data with the app.
