Recently we saw Australian Idol’s Toby Moulton slow down a-Ha’s 80s hit “Take on Me.” In that tradition comes this stripped back cover.

This version has a Hawaiian reggae feel thanks to the ukulele and kalimba. That’s a thumb piano to you and me. Add some silky smooth vocals and you’ve got the kind of cover that completely reinvents the Norwegian pop hit.

There are some real low budget musical gems to be found on YouTube. They might not have the production values or polish of a big budget music video, but they seem to have a lot more heart. This is definitely one such jewel!
