Grace Potter & Kenny Chesney Video | Singers Duet ‘You and Tequila’ At CMA 2011

This video shows Grace Potter and Kenny Chesney performing a duet of You and Tequila at the 2011 CMA ceremony.

I’m not usually a fan of country music. It certainly isn’t my preferred genre. But this performance is compelling enough to have made me listen and watch for the duration.

Yes, it’s simple, with two people merely sitting still on chairs singing and playing guitar. But I think that’s why it works. There is no need for gimmicks and dance routines when the song is great and the singing even better.

You and Tequila appears on Chesney’s album Hemingway’s Whiskey. The pair won the ‘Best Music Video’ prize for the song at the 45th annual Country Music Association Awards. And much deserved it was too.
