Haiti Earthquake 2010 Video | Immediate Aftermath In Caribbean Disaster Zone

28 sec read

As you’ve no doubt heard already, there has been a massive earthquake in Haiti this morning. The Caribbean republic was hit by a huge ground shaker measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale.

This video shows the immediate aftermath of the earthquake, with the first footage of the scene on the ground. Buildings are down and destroyed, people are injured or dead, and the whole country is in a state of panic and shock.

Seismologists are stating the earthquake was shallow, meaning the effect at ground level was heightened. Worse still it hit just 10 miles from the capital of the country, Port-au-Prince.

The death toll is thought to be massive, and Haiti clearly needs help and aid from the rest of the world at this time. Hopefully, governments around the world will quickly mobilize to assist.
