Religious intolerance is as bad as sexism, racism, ageism, and any other form of prejudice that exists. But it can, on occasion, be funny, especially when supposedly religious people show their true colors.
This video shows how some Christians take offense at the use of ‘Jesus Died LOL’ as an Xbox 360 gamertag on Halo 3. The guy with the name gets subjected to some pretty vile abuse.
For starters, ‘Jesus Died LOL’ is stating the facts. He did die, and so will we all at some point. Maybe it’s not a laughing matter but if you’re an atheist as this guy claims to be, then you don’t necessarily believe Jesus even existed, and if he did then he definitely wasn’t the son of God.
But it’s the nature of the abuse which is both funny and sick. This guy is called a Jew as if it’s a term of abuse. Hmm, wasn’t Jesus Jewish? And then there are the obvious gay taunts. So a dig about religion is bad but you can ridicule their sexuality with no problem?
