Hammer Films is a cult horror studio that used to produce gory slasher movies, and films about Dracula, Frankenstein, and all of the big horror franchises.
Throughout the 1950s and 60s, the studio produced many feature films, which while not exactly A-List kept millions on the edges of their seats.
And now they’re back! The first film from the studio in over 30 years, titled Beyond The Rave, has been made, and will be distributed through MySpace TV.
The film will be released in 20 minute webisodes, before getting a full release on DVD and as a download.
James Fabricant, director of entertainment for MySpace Europe, said:
“This partnership demonstrates how traditional media is being turned on its head.”
“For Hammer to make their first movie in 30 years specifically for the MySpace community shows the dramatic change in how consumers want to access content.”
The cast includes Sadie Frost, Jamie Dornan, Nora-Jane Noone and Tamer Hassan, and the plot involves a vampire story set in the underground rave scene of the UK.
