Republican congressman Hank Johnson has managed to do the unthinkable: make himself look an even bigger fool than all politicians already do.
How has he managed this? By postulating that the island of Guam could tip over and capsize if its population grows too large. Oh. My. God.
Johnson made the comments in this video during a House Armed Services Committee hearing last week.
Speaking to Adm. Robert Willard, head of the U.S. Pacific fleet, about a planned military buildup on the island, Johnson expresses his fears that this could cause the island to literally sink.
A spokesman for the congressman has since stated Johnson was speaking figuratively rather than literally, but I don’t believe that for a second. And this man is paid to help run the United States of America. Wow.
