This guy was demonstrating how to climb a ladder, and how being tied on can save you if you happen to fall off. Unfortunately nothing will save you if the ladder decides to fall over sideways.
A lot of people hate Health and Safety, and the do-gooding nerds who tend to bang on about it all the time. So to see someone whose job it is to demonstrate how not to fall off a ladder fall off a ladder has made given joy to countless millions.
I’m sure no one wishes this guy ill or hopes he was injured in the fall, but to see him hoisted by his own petard is pretty damn funny.
The stupid thing is that Health and Safety directives are there for two reasons: to stop people injuring themselves and others, and to prevent a company from being sued by these no-win, no-fee merchants. Neither of which are bad things, surely.
