With the news that Henry Ian Cusick was being sued by Chelsea Stone, I needed to find a suitable video. A bit of a problem seeing as Desmond is many people’s favorite character in Lost, and a feel-good clip hardly fits the story. Luckily, YouTube came up trumps.
This video shows Desmond (played by Henry Ian Cusick) as the son of a bitch he can be at times. Which is fitting seeing as how he is being sued for sexual harassment and sexual battery by a former co-worker on the show.
The incident allegedly occurred in October 2007. Chelsea Stone claims Cusick fondled her buttocks and breasts, and kissed her on the lips. She claims she was then fired from the show 12 days later after reporting the incident to a superior.
The problem with this case and every case like it is it’s one person’s testimony against another. Who to believe? The other thing is that no-one really knows the nature of what happened. Which is obviously for a court to decide.
Whatever the outcome of this case I just hope Henry Ian Cusick remains in Lost until the show ends. His story arc is central to the whole plot and needs to be concluded. Plus, he’s one hell of a good actor.
