Most people these days spend their Sunday mornings nursing hangovers rather than singing hymns. So when prospective parishioners visit a church, most priests do their best to welcome the newcomers into the fold. But not this vicar.
This sketch from That Mitchell and Webb Look shows a priest who has no time for new-age spirituality and casual church attendance. The new folks in town seem like quite nice people, but that’s hardly the point when they’re eating everyone else’s biscuits!
I’ve got to wonder how many people are in his congregation if he treats everyone like this. Maybe the faithful stay because they’re too scared to go anywhere else!
