Have you ever been to Starbucks and given your name when asked by the barista? Sure, we all have. And has that barista then got your name wrong on at least one occasion? I’m guessing they have, because it’s a common problem.
Why is this the case? Are all Starbucks baristas stupid and incapable of spelling? Perhaps. Or perhaps there is another, altogether more logical, reason.
According to this video, Starbucks barista constantly get the names of customers wrong on purpose. mainly because they’re bored and want to mess with you.
Which is understandable when you think about it. making coffee for a couple of hours every day may be fun, but when you’re making your 500th cup of the day then you need something, anything, to break the monotony.
