Karl Rove isn’t stupid. In fact, he’s clearly a very intelligent man who has got where he has by showing common sense and a steely resolve.
Unfortunately that all slipped away from him last night as he clutched at straws over the election result.
As you’re no doubt already aware Barack Obama won the U.S. Election and is President for another four years. It was close for most of the night, but it later became clear Obama had done it.
The networks started calling the election in Obama’s favor… even the robustly Republican Fox News. However, their political commentator Karl Rove disagreed, and started throwing numbers out there to prove his point.
I was watching BBC News at this point, and they made it clear that even without Ohio Obama had it in the bag. So Rove was living in Cloud Cuckoo Land.
