As the Super Mario games are platformers they require the main character, one Super Mario Esq. to jump around a lot. And every time he jumps he makes that strange springy noise.
This is fine for most people, who barely even notice after a while. But the cat in this video notices the noise every single time, and jumps out of its skin as a result.
Is this a bit of a cruel prank to play on a cat? In a way, yes. But it’s also damn funny, and the cat’s behavior seems to be totally illogical. It’s only a noise after all.
My cat does something similar, leaping in the air if you bang your feet together quickly when he’s walking past. But that makes sense compared to this example of cowardice.
