This latest season of Saturday Night Live hasn’t been the most memorable, but Paul Rudd’s appearance as guest host will surely have given the show a big boost.
Rudd hosted SNL episode 689 (series 36, ep. 9), with Paul McCartney appearing as the musical guest. McCartney did OK, singing five songs including Give Peace a Chance and Band On The Run. But Rudd did better.
This sketch shows the Vogelchecks, the family who greet each other in very inappropriate ways. And they truly go for it with Rudd on board, so much so my mouth was agape in shock for some of the time.
Rudd is a great actor, being both hilarious and a classy lead actor in more serious roles. Which makes him the perfect host for Saturday Night Live.
