If you watched the first of the U.S. presidential debates on Wednesday then you’ll no doubt have heard Mitt Romney vow to fire Big Bird. Because as much as he likes him, he doesn’t like him enough to borrow money from China.
Lots of people are unhappy with this threat to Big Bird, to Sesame Street, and to the whole of PBS. Including this guy.
This guy happens to be Jonathan Mann, who posts a ‘Song A Day’ on YouTube. He has done for several years now, and this is song number 1373.
Romney Fires Big Bird, but he also fires Grover, The Count, Elmo, and even Snuffleupagus. Which is just harsh. Then again, as we’re reminded at the end of the song, Romney likes being able to fire people. Like a cold-hearted businessman.
