Martin Freeman has had something of a mixed career. After finding fame with two seasons of The Office (the original and best version), he then disappeared from our screens.
Until, several years later, Peter Jackson cast him in The Hobbit as Bilbo Baggins. So what better way to mark Freeman’s appearance on Saturday Night Live than by mashing those two things together.
This is The Office: Middle Earth. All of the various characters and creatures from The Hobbit are now working in a paper factory in Slough. Including Gandalf, Gollum, and several orcs.
It’s a really well-pitched parody, with plenty of references both to The Office and The Hobbit. Genius.
