Moonshine isn’t as big as it once was, especially in the U.S. where it was at its height in the age of prohibition.
The illicit making of alcoholic spirits takes place in all parts of the world. And moonshine has been adopted as the name for this semi-illegal drink which can be brewed in the home.
This video shows corn whiskey being made in a professional capacity, so it isn’t moonshine as most of the population knows it. But it at least shows the basic processes spirits have to go through to become drinkable and tasty.
Moonshine would be less refined and probably taste a lot worse than this. It would also be more alcoholic and if made incorrectly contain the types of alcohol that is harmful to consume. So it’s best to leave well alone, unless you know someone who studied chemistry.
