For thousands of years human beings walked around barefoot. Just like every other animal still does to this day.
However, at some point, humans thought it would be a good idea to start wearing shoes. And that changed the way humans walk for ever more.
Shoes started out as nothing more than strips of leather or cloth that we wrapped around our feet. But then we added thicker soles and all manner of bells and whistles.
This video explains how this changed the way we walk, and what that change in walking style is doing to our bodies. And it all makes me want to go barefoot whenever possible.
