It seems that at the beginning of every year, a new diet emerges. The latest of these is the relatively new “flat belly diet” which also requires dieters to drink “sassy water.”
In the above video, one of the authors of the book “Flat Belly Diet” explains her new diet. Also included below are recipes for “sassy water” and the flat belly diet.
Apparently, the three rules to controlling belly fat are 1) Eat four 400 calorie meals per day 2) Never go more than four hours without eating and 3) Incorporate “MUFAs” into meals (monounsaturated fats such as olive oil, nuts and seeds, avocados, olives, and dark chocolate).

Below are some recipes you might find useful if you are going on the Flat Belly Diet to lose visceral fat:
Sassy Water Recipe
- 8. 5 cups of water
- 1 tsp of grated ginger
- 1 medium sized cucumber
- 1 medium sized lemon
- 12 spearmint leaves
Combine all the ingredients in a pitcher and let sit in the fridge overnight. Drink all the water throughout the next day along with your meals.
Chocolate-Drizzled Popcorn
- 12 cups air-popped popcorn
- 1/2 cup roasted cashews, unsalted
- 1 cup melted semisweet chocolate chips
Spread out the popcorn and nuts evenly then pour the melted chocolate over them. Let cool for 20 minutes then place in bowl to eat. Makes 4 servings of 392 calories.
