“If you ask anybody who takes 5000 units of vitamin D, they’ll tell ya, they just don’t get sick anymore.”
Why do people get more heart attacks in the winter? Why do more people die at night? According to Dr. John Cannell, sunlight (which contains vitamin D) has a lot to do with our immune system. The more vitamin D we have, the “smarter” our immune system is.
I’m no doctor, but if tuberculosis can be eased with vitamin D and sunlight, then I can’t see why the common cold can’t be prevented/cured in the same fashion. Recent studies in the last couple of years show that vitamin D increases antimicrobial peptides in a human body- the things in us that fight off infections.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to the health food store.
