Even normal-sized crocodiles are scary beasts I’d rather avoid ever coming into contact with. So the sight of a giant, man-eating crocodile has me running away screaming. And that’s just after watching the video on YouTube.
This crocodile, which weighs in at around one ton (2,370 pounds), was caught and restrained in Bunawan township in Agusan del Sur province in the Philippines. It took three weeks for hunters to capture it alive.
Villagers have been terrified of the beast, which is suspected of killing a fisherman that went missing in July. A child was also killed by an unidentified croc a couple of year previously.
It’s important to note that this crocodile isn’t being killed for its crimes, and is instead to be the star attraction in a new park designed to entice tourists into the area. Tourists who will have to watch out for man-eating prehistoric beasts, obviously.
