We’ve seen some very cool Lady Gaga covers on WebTVHub, including interpretations from tween cutie pie Greyson Chance and indie band Pomplamoose. But there has been none quite like this version of “Poker Face” from Norway’s Hurra Torpedo.
This Norwegian act loves to mix traditional instruments with appliances. The white goods offer surprisingly good percussion qualities, so their covers never feel too gimmicky.
Having said that, I’m not sure the pop purists will appreciate this take on Lady Gaga’s breakout hit. Then again, there are plenty of folks out there who don’t appreciate the cult status of the original kooky musician. I’m sure they’re going to dig this.
