Hurricane Ike may not have been as powerful as either Hurricane Katrina or Hurricane Andrew, but the category 2 storm still hit Texas with a hell of a punch.
As this news video report shows, not only was there an incredible amount of damage caused by Hurricane Ike, but people also had to be rescued from their homes.
The question is why? There were evacuation warnings well ahead of the storm hitting land, yet people chose to stay in their homes and risk the lives of the teams forced to rescue them.
I’m just glad I live in the UK where tropical storms such as this are rarer than a very rare steak (live cow). If I lived in the US, I think I;d build a nuclear bunker.
