Australian Idol is heating up as contestants compete for a place in the prestigious top 12. Often it seems like these programs churn out the same old performers: the soul divas, the rockers, the serious singer-songwriters. And then there is Husny Thalib.
Appearing as a cross between Prince and Captain Jack Sparrow, Husny brought a sense of theatre to the program. His rendition of Lenny Kravitz’s If You Can’t Say No may not have impressed all the judges, but they certainly won’t forget it.
I love Husny, but apparently Australia didn’t agree with me. He may have missed out on the top 12 this time, but there’s always the wildcard round.
