This short film is simply stunning. Which is clearly what has led renowned film critic Roger Ebert to suggest this should win the Academy Award for Best Live-Action Short.
It’s titled Man In A Blizzard, but has been renamed (or nicknamed) Idiot With A Tripod. Both of which are very fitting. This guy may be an idiot to head out in a snow storm, but the results are spectacular.
The man behind this amazing footage of the East Coast blizzard is a filmmaker called Jamie Stuart, who shot the footage on Dec. 26 and had already sent it to Ebert by the 27th. That’s what I call a quick turnaround.
I’m not sure I agree with Ebert about this being Oscar-worthy, but it is certainly a joy to watch. For anyone who loves snow, this is a visual feast for the eyes.
