Anyone who plays Xbox 360 games, or even PS3 games which have their own equivalent called Trophies, will know about Achievements, which make up an extraneous but important part of every title.
But what if Achievements (and Trophies) existed in real life? War would certainly be a lot more fun, but more people would die, and in lots of bizarre and unexpected ways.
Achievements are basically rewards for doing certain things in a game. So a war game may need you to kill a certain number of people with your knife, or get through a battle without taking any damage.
This video shows what would happen if real soldiers fighting real wars were rewarded with Achievements. And while it’s very funny, it also implies it would be a really sorry state of affairs. Lucky then that it’s never going to happen.
