As you’re no doubt aware, the Trump administration has been separating parents and children if they’re detained after crossing the border into the United States.
Most right-thinking people see this as a horrifying change of policy, and even Donald Trump himself was forced to change his mind. However, plenty of families remain separated.
This led one group to hang a banner on the Statue of Liberty on Independence Day (the 4th of July). And then one lady climbed Lady Liberty to protest against ICE.
The Statue of Liberty was chosen on purpose, as for years it has stood as a testament to the United States’ healthy attitude to immigration. Sadly, times have changed.
