Until today, I didn’t even know there was such a show as Indian Idol, but there is, and it’s just as good as its American counterpart. Now, having read up on the show in order to write this post, I probably know more than I ever wanted to.
The big news today, and the reason Indian Idol came into my view this morning is that Indian Idol 4 ended last night. Sourabhee Debbarama won, and this video shows one of the best performances from earlier in the competition.
Sourabhee is the first female winner of the show, with the three previous winners, Abhijeet Sawant, Sandeep Acharya, and Amit Paul all being men. It surely also helps that Sourabhee is beautiful. I’d have voted for her on looks alone.
Sourabhee’s win in the grand final by way of public vote saw her walk away with a 10 million rupees recording contract with Sony and a new car. She looks good, sounds good, and has a smile to die for – which is a lot more than can be said for some of the contestants on American Idol.
