With all the attention on leotard-clad Beyonce and her killer dance moves, it’s easy to forget that “Single Ladies” is a pretty fantastic song. California indie pop duo Pomplamoose remind us with their killer version of the poptastic hit.
It’s a little jazzy, with a healthy dose of urban flavor. I’m sure Beyonce never imagined it quite like this, but the stripped back treatment really works. The film clip may not be quite as memorable, but it’s still a lot of fun.
It’s almost a certainty that Kanye West would never approve, but I think this might just be better than the original!
