This is a review of the 2011 Chevy Volt… which is fitting as GM has just announced it’s cutting production on the range.
The Chevy Volt was meant to be the first of a new breed of hybrid car that would see GM soar back to greatness, bigger and better than before. Unfortunately that hasn’t proved to be the case.
The price is a big problem, especially in this economy. People just cannot afford to be kind to the environment. And I’m not convinced hybrids offer a real, longterm solution anyway.
What we really need is a bold company to conjure up something completely new. After all, electricity is generated using fossil fuels, so we’re not exactly saving the planet by switching to hybrids.
