There is an emerging market of free-to-play MMO games cropping up. We’ve already seen titles such as Lord Of The Rings Online, League Of Legends, and Blacklight: Retribution.
Now a new contender has arrived on the scene. PlanetSide 2 is a free-to-play shooter that has now gone live for anyone to play in North America and Europe.
This video shows a detailed critique of PlanetSide 2 from someone who was in the beta. He offers a fair and unbiased overview of the game, suggesting what it does well and what it does badly.
This was recorded weeks before the game launched, but I doubt all the bugs mentioned were fixed in time. Still, it is an MMO game, and these tend to evolve and improve over time. As it’s free to play, PlanetSide 2 has to be worth a go, surely.
