Eight-year-old Elizabeth Hughes has one of the most angelic singing voices I’ve ever heard. But this video, which shows her singing the national anthem at the Norfolk Admirals hockey game, isn’t really about that voice. Instead it shows us the lengths that people will go to when someone else is in trouble.
Elizabeth is doing a cracking job for her first time singing the national anthem at a major sporting match, but then her microphone fails. It could have been a complete disaster, but thanks to the kindness of strangers it becomes one of the most uplifting moments I’ve seen on video.
Ignore the dodgy hand-held camera work and be prepared to have your heart warmed.
