Jawbreakers are one of these sweets we all tried eating when we were children, but which we gave up on very quickly. Why? Because they’re virtually impossible to eat, and also really, really bad for your health.
Still, regardless of all this, it’s still interesting to see how jawbreakers are made. Just don’t expect any great revelations.
Suffice to say the main ingredient in jawbreakers is sugar. Lots and lots of sugar. Then there’s flavoring, coloring, and some kind of acid.
The only big surprise is seeing how the layers are added in what look like cement mixers. But then that makes it even less likely that I’ll eat a jawbreaker ever again.
