HIV-Immune Cells to Fight AIDS? | Interesting Science Video

The things we humans do to mice. Ah, well. In the name of science…

Before the days of screening blood used for blood transfusions, many people got AIDS through those transfusions. However, not everyone who received the infected blood developed AIDS.

It’s the HIV-Immune cells of those rare people that doctors have been looking at as a way to fight AIDS. They want to try to modify people’s own cells to be resistant.

What we as a species are doing with not only medical technology but other areas never ceases to amaze me. Just think of the possibilities this modification of cells could provide for people.

The people over at population control probably won’t be as joyous, though.
