John Wayne has been dead for nearly 40 years, but that hasn’t stopped the internet from ripping him apart for a Playboy interview from 1971.
In the interview, Wayne expressed some controversial opinions on homosexuality, race relations, and how the Native Americans were treated.
However, John Wayne’s comments on race may have been taken out of context, and this video offers an alternative view on the views John Wayne was expressing.
I’m not completely sold, and I suspect John Wayne had some views that wouldn’t sit well in 2019. However, he made these comments in 1971, and so we should probably move on.
