Carrie is a new film starring Chloe Grace Moretz and based on the original film of the same name from 1976. The story is the same, but does this stand up as a solid movie in its own right?
The big question about this movie is whether it actually needs to exist. The less a remake veers away from the original the more this question becomes relevant.
Apart from a few modern day cultural references and the fact that Moretz revels in her powers more than Sissy Spacek did, this is a remake in the most literal sense of the word.
Despite all of that this looks to be a great film, and certainly a must-see for those who were too young to be interested in the original.
