Japanese Companies Face Fines For Fat Workers (Video) | Blow To American Fast Food?

19 sec read

Rather than just outlawing American fast-food, the Japanese government has implemented a very clever workforce policy. If employees’ waistlines are over 33 inches, the company faces fines.

So basically, if you want a job in Japan, don’t eat McDonalds.

The guideline only applies to those over the age of 40, so teenagers and people in their 20’s don’t care. Still, it makes a big difference on health insurance when your entire company is middle-aged or over.

33″ is pretty damn strict- what about those with different body types? I smell a protest in the works.
