Jennifer Hudson’s American Idol Audition Video | Sings Aretha Franklin From Season 3

Here we have a classic American Idol moment from season 3 when Jennifer Hudson first auditioned with the song “Share Your Love With Me” by Aretha Franklin.

Try to ignore the semi-rude skepticism from Randy in the first few seconds of the clip.

Before all the Grammy fame, the movie star roles, and her horrible family tragedy, Jennifer was just a singer on a Disney cruise ship. It’s too bad she got voted off as the 6th of the 12 finalists in the end. Personally, I prefer her voice to Fantasia’s any day of the week.

After the loss of her mother and her brother in 2008, many thought the woman’s career was over. But she proved critics wrong when she re-emerged in 2009 to sing the Star Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl. Not only is Jennifer a great singer, but a strong woman.
