Jennifer Lawrence has been strangely silent since nude photos of her leaked on the Internet as part of The Fappening AKA CelebGate.
Now, finally, she has spoken out about the incident during an interview with Vanity Fair. Suffice to say, she isn’t happy.
Lawrence claims the leaking of her nude photos “is a sex crime,” and that anyone who even looked at the photos is “perpetuating a sexual offence.”
I think this is a little hyperbolic, and does a disservice to anyone who has ever been the victim of a real sex crime.
She also suggested “the law needs to be changed,” but this is already illegal, which is why the FBI are investigating the incident and trying to catch the people who hacked into her iCloud account.
Everybody has sympathy for Jennifer Lawrence, but giving this interview may have been a mistake.
