Not again, surely! Jeremy Paxman said “c**ts” on Newsnight, when he was meant to say “cuts.” Making it the third time in less than two months that a BBC presenter has made the monumental slip-up. What a bunch of…
In December James Naughtie called Jeremy Hunt, Jeremy C**t. Earlier in January a sports reporter called Eric Cantona, Eric C**t Cantona. And now Paxman has uttered the taboo word on television.
You could say Paxman was calling those who are intentionally avoiding paying tax “c**ts,” but I doubt he was, at least intentionally. Then again it could have been a Freudian slip.
Regardless, there is definitely something strange going on here. One slip up is accidental, two is coincidental, three is planned, surely. Maybe there’s some sort of game being played at the BBC, and the punishment for whoever loses is to slip the C word into a broadcast.
Keep an eye out for any more examples, because I have a sneaking suspicion there will be some.
