Jimmy Kimmel likes to issue pranks to his viewers from time to time. The last I saw was his instruction to parents to pretend they had eaten all their kids’ Halloween candy. And he’s at it again.
This time Kimmel asked viewers to pull the plug, turn the TV off, or switch channels at an important moment during the Super Bowl. And record the resulting mess for us all to laugh over, obviously.
I find this video especially hilarious as I do not understand the level of interest some people have in sports. Support a team, fine. Go to a game, fine. But sit around focused on the TV as if life itself depends on it? Sad.
While most of the football fans featured take it well, several resort to violence. And I find that especially saddening. A football game is so important to you that you’re happy to injure someone who interrupts it? Get a life.
