We’ve all been there. You get so excited about something happening that you express that anticipation in an inappropriate fashion. And when you’re the vice-president of the United States of America, that means swearing.
The incident occurred as Biden introduced Obama and handed the microphone to him. Leaning over to give his boss Obama a final rallying pep talk, Biden tells the president that “This is a big deal, buddy, this is a big fucking deal.”
Unfortunately for Biden, the microphones picked everything he said up. And the look on Obama’s face suggests he realized that as soon as the words exited Biden’s mouth.
I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing that Biden was caught swearing in this way. It shows he is at least human, which is a quality I happen to like in my politicians. But it has given the right wingers, the conservatives, and the Republicans something else to beat the president up with. Which is a shame.
