Jon Stewart Takes on CNN’s Crossfire Video | “I’m Not Gonna Be Your Monkey”

Remember that show on CNN called ‘Crossfire?’ It’s purpose was to broadcast a live honest half-hour debate between a liberal and conservative speaker, however, that’s not how Jon Stewart saw it.

When Tucker Carlson invited Jon on the show back in 2004, he got a little more than he bargained for. This video is the reason Crossfire got canceled.

When Jon describes Crossfire as “not honest” and “partisan hackery” Carlson gets and accuses him of “sniffing Kerry’s throne.” As they battle it out, we clearly see the audience leaning toward Jon more than Carlson. It’s like The Daily Show all over again.

Before seeing this clip, I’ve always thought of Jon Stewart of more a comedian rather than a political adviser, but now I definitely respect him for single-handedly taking on the hosts. As a direct result of this very argument, Crossfire was terminated 2 months later.
